When do you schedule sessions?
Outdoor sessions I typically schedule in the evenings about an hour to a half hour before sunset. This is when lighting is best for my style of photography. The sun is low and soft, yet bright and beautiful. Indoor sessions are typically scheduled anywhere from late morning to early afternoon.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
Typically between 25-32 weeks. However, don't think you've missed the window if you're passed 32 weeks! I have photographed some Mom's the week of their due date!
When should I schedule my newborn session?
I like to get newborn sessions on the books asap! I usually block off the week you are due and schedule for a week from your due date. However, babies have a mind of their own even before they're here so I definitely accommodate any and all situations that could occur. Less stress for Mom
Where are you based?
Based in Metro Detroit, Michigan - my studio is in Downtown Rochester, MI
What type of sessions do you photograph?
I love photographing all genres but my main goal is to book sessions I know I can confidently capture genuine connection and create art that moves my heart and soul. My primary focus is currently motherhood, maternity, newborns, milestones and families. Unfortunately, I’m not booking weddings at this time. However, I can recommend you to some fantastic wedding photographers in the area that will fit your style and need.
What's your style?
I don’t think that I can use just one word to describe my style of work but unposed, organic, timeless, real and playful are words I strive for. I'm passionate about telling your story through my work. Capturing the moments and details you never want to forget. In a session with me you can expect to have fun and definitely laugh... a lot! My goal is to capture those candid moments in between the laughs, smiles and cuddles. I work hard to make sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed.
How do I book my session?
Easy! Click here on the Contact link and shoot me an email with some details about the session you are looking for! I will answer you within 48 hours!
How long will my session last?
Regular sessions typically last anywhere from 40-60 minutes. Newborn sessions can last 1 - 2 hours depending on what baby wants. Sometimes Newborn sessions entail a few feedings and if that's what baby wants, that's what baby gets! We are on his/her time during this session.
I can't wait to see my photos! When will they be ready?
Believe me, I am SO excited to share them! Your entire gallery will be completed within 3 - 4 weeks.
Can I print my images myself?
Yes. All my sessions include edited/retouched images + print release via digital download. However I do offer printing through my lab which has a better quality for professional prints. After all, you are putting this art in your homes for everyone to see.
Can I bring my dog?
YESSSSS! Forget all of the other questions. You're my kind of people! BOOK NOW!
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. I split payments equally in half. The initial, non-refundable payment is due upon booking your session to hold your date and the other half will be due the week before your session.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Cloudy weather is not a problem. However, if it rains, snows, hails or anything else that would involve getting wet. I will contact you as soon as possible to postpone or reschedule. I usually try to keep an eye on the weather the week of your session so it isn't last minute, however, we do live in good ol' Michigan!
What locations do you use?
I have suggestions for locations based on the style of session you’re going for. Are you interested in nature/park, country/fields or industrial/downtown? Maybe somewhere a bit different such as a apple orchard, greenhouse, museum or tree farm? Or maybe you and your family have a favorite spot or thing to do together? Let’s get some ice cream or play at the park! I also do in home sessions. However, I do need to make sure the lighting is ideal for your Session, so we will need to chat more about that!
